Taxes

Short answer

/taxes/ is where Private Pierce's tax research lives: what each jurisdiction publishes about its own tax regime, cited to that jurisdiction's official source, and read across jurisdictions on the same fields rather than summarized separately. It describes published law; it does not compute anyone's liability.

What lives in this silo

  • Tax Regimes by Jurisdiction — headline corporate and personal rates, territorial or exempt treatment, capital-gains and wealth-or-inheritance charges, new-resident regimes, and economic-substance, Pillar Two, and treaty status, across international jurisdictions and US states
  • Wyoming Taxes — what a single jurisdiction's tax profile looks like in detail, inside the Wyoming research silo

Tax treatment and privacy are separate questions

A jurisdiction's tax regime and its disclosure regime are independent variables. A jurisdiction can publish a low headline rate and still run a fully public ownership register, or tax at an ordinary rate and restrict register access. The two are researched on separate matrices for that reason — see Beneficial-Ownership Transparency by Jurisdiction for the disclosure side, and Havens by Purpose for a descriptive catalog of what each jurisdiction is known for.

Not legal advice

Private Pierce is not a law firm and does not provide legal or tax advice.

Nothing on this page is legal, tax, or immigration advice, and it is not a recommendation to use any jurisdiction; foreign law is described from official sources as published and may have changed — consult counsel licensed in the relevant jurisdiction.

Frequently asked questions

What does this silo cover?

How jurisdictions describe their own tax regimes in their own published sources — headline corporate and personal rates, territorial or exempt treatment, capital-gains and wealth-or-inheritance charges, special regimes for new residents, and international-compliance status such as economic substance and Pillar Two.

Are these effective tax rates?

No. A headline rate is the statutory rate a jurisdiction publishes, before deductions, credits, surcharges, local or cantonal additions, and regime-specific carve-outs. Nothing in this silo computes a liability for any person or entity.

Is this tax advice?

No. Private Pierce is not a law firm or a tax practice. These pages describe published law from official sources, which may have changed since it was read; consult a tax advisor and counsel licensed in the relevant jurisdiction about your own situation.
